There are no timing restrictions in the guys' hostel. Just tht if u r oming bet 11pm to 5 am, u need to fill in a register stating where u were comin from. Those ways, even though the gals' hostel is better in terms of living conditions than G R jani, trust me, life is much more freer here.....girls have a 1000 & 1 restrictions placed on them....heard that some of the staff members also don't behave properly with them (talk down to them)....the gal-seniors would be in a much better position to answer that.
The above is the latest info. If with ur batch they introduce some stupid rules, then i dunno. NM is known to chage rules every year. But i should expect a cool life for all of us
Also, the rooms are decent in the hostel. They are perfect for 2 ppl.....3 is good.....but they stretch it a bit too far with 4 ppl to a room. But that's a thing u guys would have to learn to stay with. In the end, u guys wud get used to it. Its REALLY NOT that bad a deal....trust me ! OK, U do have the "drshan" of a rat now & then, but as long as u guys maintain some basic hygeine, u guys are gonna live comfortably. Me & my (ex) roomies were given the most horrible room of the hostel, but we survived there, WITHOUT any major issues. Mebbe it had something to do wih the fact that we guys were cleanliness freaks (girls ! go fig. that out !).

This is how it was. GR Jani in terms of the looks has improved a lot, but, that is only upto the ground floor. Above that it is all very much the same.
The restrictions have been imposed considerably seriously for the past 1 year or so and there seems to be no respite on that front.
Is hostel better or flat sharing for the first year?
